General Terms & Conditions

1. Your Account. You are the "Guardian" of the pet profiles you create and are solely responsible for the accuracy and completeness of any medical or behavioural information you enter. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access.

2. Not Veterinary Care — AI Disclaimer. Pet Family's AI companion provides general guidance, reminders, and pattern-spotting based on the information you provide. It is a wellness tool, not a diagnostic or medical device.

• It does not diagnose conditions, prescribe treatment, interpret test results, or replace consultation with a licensed veterinarian.
• AI-generated outputs may be incomplete, generic, or wrong, and are not a substitute for professional judgment.
• Emergencies: if your pet shows signs of distress, injury, or sudden illness, contact your vet or the nearest 24-hour emergency clinic immediately — do not rely only on the app.
• You remain responsible for all decisions about your pet's care.

3. Data, Privacy & Your Consent. Records you upload are encrypted in transit and at rest. By creating an account, you grant Pet Family a limited licence to process your and your pet's data to:

• power features you enable (reminders, AI summaries, family/vet sharing, health trend analysis); and
• maintain, secure, and improve the underlying service.

You may withdraw consent for optional processing (e.g., AI summaries) at any time in settings; this may limit certain features. See our full Privacy Policy for details on legal basis, retention, and your rights under applicable data protection law.

4. Sharing with Family, Sitters & Vets. People you invite (family members, sitters, veterinarians) receive all information you have in Pet Family. You may revoke access at any time, effective immediately. Every view and edit is logged in an audit trail available to you.

5. Export & Deletion. You may export a complete copy of your pet's records at any time in a portable format. You may delete your account and associated data on request; deletion is permanent and, once processed, cannot be undone. Some information may be retained briefly where required by law or for fraud/security purposes.

6. No Warranty & Limitation of Liability. The app is provided "as is." To the fullest extent permitted by law, Pet Family is not liable for any health outcome, veterinary decision, or loss arising from reliance on app content, reminders, or AI outputs. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be excluded under applicable consumer protection law.

7. Complaints & Your Rights. If you're unhappy with the service, contact us at [support email] and we'll aim to resolve it within [X] business days. Nothing here affects your statutory rights as a consumer under applicable law.

8. Changes to These Terms. We will notify you in-app before making any material change to these terms, with a summary of what's changing and a reasonable notice period before it takes effect.
